WHAT IS INTEGRATED HEALTH COACHING? MY DEFINITION.

Integrated is the the relationship between factors

Health is made up many factors; Mental health, Physical health, Social health, Environmental health, Nutritional health and Rest.

Lifestyle is the influence on and product of your healths factors.

Good health is the sum of these parts equating to homeostasis (balance) and a fulfilled life over the longest period.

Coaching is guiding you to what you want to be. Awaking the individual and connecting the dots of health, lifestyle and history.

We don’t go faster in one area but by connecting the dots and identifying a purpose we arrive at good health efficiently, enjoyably and sustainably. We don't go faster but get there sooner.

HOW MUCH NEEDS TO CHANGE?

A passive approach to health will maintain an unsustainable lifestyle in the short-term, but that’s not who you are in essence. Individuals and teams aspiring to excellence have a coach - why shouldn’t you?

(Bold statement)……Your lifestyle indicates your health, self-respect and integrity. That will indicate the required change.

Obesity, diabetes and heat disease are understood as life-style related illnesses. Likewise I’d consider mental health issues such as stress, anxiety, depression and addiction as lifestyle related illnesses. No surprises there.

Therefore, health carries the burden of your lifestyle and all too commonly poor health created those negative lifestyle practices. For example;

A grand mother is obese. Her daughter, born into the same household, lifestyle and with similar genetics becomes obese too.

Worth noting that genetics will dictate health but lifestyle dictates which genes are activated.

Body fat is a self-feeding organ, by sustaining itself it’s working for you, endeavouring to grow and grow fed by your lifestyle and feeding your lifestyle. Now you’ve customised your lifestyle and self beliefs to maintain the lifestyle which feeds the organism taking your health.

The daughter becomes pregnant. She continues with the same diet she was built on, all served with a obligatory side of the addictions fast food gifts and her body fat increases. In utero the child is overwhelmed by the high blood sugar levels of her mother and the baby is born pre diabetic.

If this baby sits at another table where fresh food and informed lifestyle choices are stable her risk of diabetes and weight related issues drop drastically. If not, she will be the next overweight child in supermarket queue being judged for ‘weak will’.

The importance of particular parts of health such as physical or nutritional are known, but what for something like ‘social health’?

As the example suggests; It’s as important as any other arm, equally weighted…..balanced. Our social contracts can be the chains preventing some sort of action or the safeguards which keep us accountable to it. Sometimes our families, friends and colleagues can be the genesis and safeguards of the former as your coach I’m the potent part of the latter.

Heath is complicated, contextual and individual.

Don’t look to a one size fits all model which tells you to ‘be the same as everyone else, just better’. When the individual uses their power of reason to think logically and then sympathetically to the causes of poor lifestyle and health the solution and remedy becomes self evident. What’s required and overlooked is the necessity to create the context to awaken your power reason, instinct and individuality.

Creating this context is my expertise, and with knowledge and experience I provide an individual guide to your health with no limits to the power and effectiveness of the conclusions you can draw….your ‘best case scenario’.
